A profession that is valued

Living on low pay, without the right to be sick or take paid leave, undermines the value of our work and leads to yoga teachers experiencing stress and burnout. 

  1. We will campaign for fair pay, sick leave and holiday pay for yoga teachers that allows us to create decent livelihoods for ourselves and our families.

  2. An acknowledgement of and contribution to the hidden costs of being a yoga teacher by the venues and studios we work with. We will fight for more meaningful contributions from studios towards the training we take and equipment we fund, that ultimately benefits us all.

  3. An end to bullying practices when teachers leave or undertake activities outside of studio settings. We will work to end intimidation of teachers who, with their students’ permission, add them to their own mailing lists and other comms.
